San Angelo Art Club - Fund Raiser and Art Show
A private showing of significant early Texas artwork from the Houston Harte Our Image collection, the ASU West Texas collection and works by sculptor, Don Bowen, will be shown at The Tippett House (ASU Presidential Home) at 2602 Live Oak to raise funds for the San Angelo Art Club.The cost is $50 per person and includes light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Promises for Families is a non-profit organization which works to provide programming and summer camps for the children of those incarcerated. They have collaborated with Cultural Affairs, Angelo Civic Theatre and the San Angelo Civic Ballet to present an evening of African Drums and Dance. Area youth will spend time in workshops and will then take the Civic Theatre stage with professional drummers and dancers. Proceeds benefit Promises for Families. "The Bonnie Blue Flag" will be presented by Mr. Ken Phipps at this monthly meeting of the San Angelo Geanealogical and Historical Society. The Collector's Society is a group of individuals who pay dues in order to present wonderful guest speakers at the museum. Topics vary from history, culture, design, the arts and more and are explored/discussed by experts. The society also works to enhance the permanent collection of our museum. Dues are $100 annually and members enjoy post lecture meals with the guest speaker (Members pay for their meals). 28 new works were added to SAMFA in 2011! Call 653-3333 FMI.
The guest speaker for this event will be Mary Frederickson, painting conservator from Canyon, TX. She will discuss the "Art of Painting Conservation."

SAN ANGELO CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES features concerts by outstanding musicians from across Texas and the United States and regularly draws patrons from every segment of the community with both traditional chamber musicians and more broadly based contemporary or ethnic music groups. Several local caterers and restaurants will provide refreshments for the concerts. Ensembles perform in an intimate and acoustically wonderful space with all concerts starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Art Museum.

MOTION IMAGE THEATER programs show classic and cutting edge American films along with motion image media from around the world. This season a Disney family Halloween clasic, a gourmet mystery-comedy, and the 23rd annual Best of the Fest videos are featured. Note the particular day and time on each program Thursday, March 29, 2012 - 7:00 p.m. at te Art Museum 24th Annual Best of the Fest by the Video Association of Dallas will feature prize - winning foreign and American animation, dramatic and narrative videos.
