SACAC Seeks New Executive Director

The San Angelo Cultural Affairs Council is seeking an Executive Director. Applicants should be disciplined self-starters with a passion for art, creativity and community service. Experience in event planning, media/community relations, fundraising, office administration a plus. Basic computer skills required. Salary $30,000 - $40,000 commensurate with experience. Current Executive Director Lorie Woodward Cantu recently tendered her resignation effective December 31, 2007. The Board of Directors has formed a Search Committee that is accepting cover letters and resumes through October 1. Cantu is available to assist in the position transition through February, if the new Executive Director so desires.

The Executive Director is SACAC's sole employee and as such is responsible for a wide-range of duties, including, but not limited too, budgeting, bookkeeping, public speaking, website upkeep, event planning, office administration (mailing list upkeep, mailouts, etc. ), public relations, marketing and fundraising. The job demands excellent written and oral communication skills. The executive director also represents SACAC on other community boards such as the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Public Art Commission and special short-term project committees.

Annual events include the Texas Wine and Food Festival, the Cactus Music Series, a children's education program, and the sub-grant program.
